Professional Information
An expert in organisational behaviour, Deshani is an Associate Professor of Management at Melbourne Business School Limited (MBS) at The University of Melbourne where she teaches Managing People and Negotiation in the MBA programme.
Previous to joining MBS, Deshani was a faculty member at the Australian National University’s Research School of Management. She was a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School and the School of Arts and Sciences in 2015.
Deshani’s research centres on the general topics of business ethics, organisational justice, negotiation, and workplace deviance. Her research has been published in Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Human Resource Management, Human Relations, and Personnel Review. She has presented over 20 refereed conference papers and published five non-refereed book chapters.
Deshani’s research and teaching initiatives have involved numerous corporate partners including Target, Boeing, and Disney.
Deshani is a member of the American Psychological Association (Division 14), Academy of Management, and the Society of Organisational Behaviour in Australia.
Deshani is a charter member of Pelham Associates.
